INTAKE PROCESS
Wellness Starts Here.
At Campground Kennels, our number one priority is the health, safety, and overall well-being of every Camper in our care. That’s why every stay begins with our comprehensive Intake Wellness Check — a process designed to set each guest up for a safe and comfortable experience.
We understand that for some pet parents, this step may feel unfamiliar — even a bit personal. Please know, this isn’t about distrust or assuming your dog is unwell. Quite the opposite: it’s about ensuring we’re equipped with everything we need to give your Camper the best care possible, from day one.
Our intake process includes a nose-to-tail assessment where we check for any visible signs of discomfort, irritation, or other health concerns. We document any findings, and we ask you to review and sign off — not as a formality, but as a shared commitment to your dog’s well-being while they’re with us.
We also review any health-related information you’ve provided: medications, allergies, sensitivities, prior injuries, or specific routines. These details matter. Because at Campground Kennels, we don’t believe in cookie-cutter care. Every Camper is different — and knowing those differences is what allows us to care for them properly.
The intake is not a judgment. It’s a promise.
A promise that we’ll always take your dog’s care seriously — with precision, compassion, and transparency.
Thank you for trusting us. We consider it an honor.
first-time boarders
Because Every First Experience Matters
At Campground Kennels, we understand that leaving your dog in someone else’s care—especially for the first time—can be a big emotional leap. And just like people, dogs can experience a wide range of emotions when they’re introduced to something new.
Some may settle in quickly. Others might feel unsure, shy, or even a little overwhelmed. This is completely normal. Dogs are sensitive, intuitive creatures, and boarding is an experience that can take some getting used to — especially when it’s unfamiliar. But rest assured: we’ve built an environment with those emotions in mind.
Our retreat is intentionally designed to feel nothing like the cold, clinical facilities that many associate with dog boarding. Here, you’ll find:
• Soft lighting to create a calming ambiance
• Uplifting music during the day to promote a cheerful mood
• Peaceful piano melodies at night to help everyone unwind
• Cozy blankets and spacious bunks for restful naps and secure sleep
• A laid-back, low-stress environment supported by a team who truly understands canine behavior
Our staff doesn’t just care for dogs — they connect with them. We know that dogs mirror the energy around them, and we meet every Camper with calm, confidence, and kindness. Over the past nine years, we’ve watched countless dogs grow more confident and relaxed through repeated stays — even those who were once anxious, high-strung, or fearful.
We take pride in offering a boarding experience that is far from typical — because your dog deserves better than “typical.” And for first-time boarders, we believe there’s no better place to begin than at Campground Kennels.
camper updates
We understand how important it is to know your Camper is happy, healthy, and having a great time while you’re away. At Campground Kennels, we care for over 100 pets at a time—each with their own routines, preferences, and needs. In many ways, it’s not unlike running a daycare full of toddlers: lots of energy, big emotions, and an unwavering need for structure, safety, and consistency.
Our top priorities are always wellness, safety, sanitation, proper feeding, playtime, and maintaining our turf and playspaces. These are the core pillars of the care we provide, and they require focused attention from our team throughout the day. Because of this, individualized updates or photos during your Camper’s stay—outside of wellness checks or urgent matters—may not always be possible.
That said, we know how much it means to see your pet enjoying their stay. While we can’t offer real-time updates for every Camper, we do share daily photos and posts on our Instagram & Facebook that capture the joy, play, and personalities of the pets in our care. This allows you to get a feel for the day’s activities and maybe even catch a glimpse of your Camper in action.
Thank you for trusting us with your beloved pet. Know that while updates may be limited, the care and attention we provide your Camper is never in short supply. 🤍
Sibling Rates & Shared Lodging Expectations
At Campground Kennels, we understand that many of our campers come from multi-dog families, and we’re proud to offer sibling rates for families whose Campers can SAFELY sleep and eat together.
That being said-
Safety and security are always our top priority and our lodging rooms are designed to accommodate guests of relative size and energy level to ensure the well-being of every camper in our care.
We generally do not recommend that dogs with a weight difference exceeding 10 pounds share a suite. This guideline is based on our experience with how dogs interact in close quarters—particularly during rest and meal-times. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis, at the sole discretion of Campground Kennels management.
If a family requests shared lodging outside of the recommended weight class, they must understand and accept that:
• Management will evaluate the suitability based on temperament, history, and observed interactions.
• Campground Kennels cannot be held liable for any disagreements or incidents that may occur when such exceptions are granted.
• Shared lodging can be modified at any time for the safety of the dogs involved.
We love keeping siblings together when it’s safe and beneficial for both dogs. When it’s not, we make sure each camper receives plenty of quality time, play, and rest—even if they bunk separately.
If you have questions about whether your dogs are good candidates for shared lodging, please reach out to our team. We’re happy to help guide the best and safest experience for your family.
